Steady Slope's First Annual Family Camping Night! Lets get outside, cookout, hangout and sleep out with our wonderful Catskills Community. The goal is to get out side, connect with the natural world and the local community and create positive camping memories.

About the event
Potluck, plant walk. Sit spot! Fire building practice. ALL Welcome.
2-3PM Arrival
4PM Sit Spot
5PM Cookout - Bring a dish to share, or something to grill
7PM Short walk and/enjoy bonfire/story telling
9PM quiet time/Sleep
7AM wake up, Group Breakfast over the fire, Pancakes, eggs!
9AM Sit Spot
10AM Walk the property/Hang out
11-12PM Pack up and Head home
What is a sit spot?
It is a type of mindfulness exercise that encourages you to focus on all of your senses, rather than just your sight. Your sit spot will help you to make a strong connection with the natural world around you, rather than being governed by the chatter inside your head. We will find a place to sit, likely with a tree and just be still and quiet. Make observations. What sounds do you hear? What does the ground feel like? What can you smell?
We will be in our event space where we have an outhouse.
Bring your own tent. If you need a tent we have a few extra, let us know.
