Open-house sauna and cold exposure

Join us as we take time to relax in the heat of our stand-alone, wood fired sauna. As conditions permit, we also provide a cold bath and a cold shower. This is a clothing optional, any and all genders, no judgements opportunity to share in an ancient therapeutic experience.

About the event

Since the industrial revolution, and after the Second World War, the Finnish (and other Baltic cultures) tradition of sauna has been widely enjoyed.  Here at Steady Slope, we learned to suana on farms in the upper midwest (geography colonized by Eastern and Northern Europeans), and in gyms and health clubs.  We strongly value the theraputic value of heat exposure, as well as cold exposure.  However, we also value the opportunity to connect with other members of our community over health and wellness.  In the spirit of abundance and conviviality, we invite you to join us for an open-house style sauna session.  The sauna is hot, and often dry, up to 200 degrees.  As climatic condition permit, there is a cold bath for plunge, and an outdoor shower with hot and cold water.  Find your primal self by starting with a cold shower, join your neighbors on the blazing hot benches, and cool off in the 55 gallon bath tub.

Please RSVP by text to christopher (551-258-7190) or Amanda (203-530-7437) or email host@seadyslope.com.
